ERTUGRUL GHAZI
ERTUGRUL GHAZI
When the thirteenth century began, the Muslim Ummah in the world was going through a critical period.
At the same time, a new empire appeared on the world map. An army of Magnolia, under Genghis Khan, fought hard to expand his empire. Then, on the one hand, they spread from Eastern Europe to Central Europe. On the other hand, they have succeeded in asserting their power in Siberia, the Indian subcontinent, China, and Iran. The Mongol countries are an example of the oppressed world. The great empires of the world were dying before the oppression of the Mongols.
The Khwarzim Empire also conquered several areas in Iraq, including Khorasan, Syria, Iran, and Seljuks.
But Gangis Khan advanced towards the Khwarzim Empire and abolished it completely. After the destruction of the empire, the Turkish tribes living there began to migrate in search of a safer place. Most of these tribes were shepherds and bedouins. Wherever there were greenery and water, they pitched their tents. Of these Turkish tribes, some settled in Iran and Syria, while others migrated to Egypt. One of these Turkic tribes was the kayi tribe. Suleiman Shah was the leader of this tribe. The Kayi tribe, led by Suleiman Shah, decided to leave Khorasan and head for Syria. On the way, while crossing the Euphrates River, Suleiman Shah drowned and died.
Suleiman Shah had four sons, Sungurtekin, Gundogdu, ertugrul, and Dundur. After the death of Suleiman the Magnificent, many tribes elected Ertugrul Ghazi as their new leader.
Ertugrul Ghazi was a brave, fearless, and warlike man. Ertugrul Gazi was born on January 1, 1198, and died on September 1, 1281. Ertugrul Ghazi left for Asia Minor with his tribe and entered the Seljuk Empire. At that time the ruler of the Seljuk Empire was Sultan Ala ad-din, who was known for his justice.
When ertugrul Ghazi was going to Konya with his tribe to seek refuge under Sultan Ala ud-din. As they approached Ankara, they saw two forces fighting each other. He did not know any of them. He understood the fact that one power is weak while the other is strong. With great compassion, Ertugrul Ghazi moved forward with his tribe to help the weak force. And suddenly attacked the opposing army. The opposing army became frightened and began to think that maybe they got help from somewhere and they lost the war. Ertugrul Ghazi learned that the army he had joined was the army of Sultan Ala ud-din.
Sultan Ala ud-din was happy to give the area of Karaca near Ankara in his kingdom to the tribe of Ertugrul Ghazi.
It was a hilly area. The Kayi tribe settled there. It is said that Sultan Ala ud-din gave this area to the Kayi tribe to protect the border on this side from the attacks of the Byzantine army. Sultan Allauddin also allowed the conquest of the border areas and their annexation to the empire. Ertugrul ghazi soon impressed everyone with his bravery. Shortly afterward, Sultan Ala ud-din also ceded the city of Sogat to Ertugrul Ghazi. As a result of these conquests, many other Turkish tribes joined Ertugrul Ghazi and recognized him as their leader. Therefore, the power of ertugrul Ghazi is increasing day by day.
When ertugrul Ghazi defeated a united army of Mongols and Byzantines, the Sultan ala ud-din also gave his city in the state of "Sultanani" of Ertugrul in his reward. Ertugrul Ghazi had three sons, Gunduz, Savci and Usman. After the death of ertugrul Ghazi, his youngest son, Usman Ghazi took over his father's kingdom. Like Ertugrul Ghazi, Usman Ghazi was a true Muslim and a brave man. Like his father, he continued his conquests. Usman Ghazi's empire was spread over three continents with an area of about 20 million square kilometers.
